Summary

This study examines cerebrospinal biomarkers in patients with brain tumors. A biomarker is a measurable indicator of the severity or presence of your disease state. Collecting and storing samples of cerebrospinal fluid from patients with brain tumors to study in the laboratory may help doctors develop new strategies to better diagnose, monitor, and treat brain tumors.

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study collects cerebrospinal fluid (CSF — the fluid around the brain and spinal cord) from patients with brain or spinal tumors to look for biological markers (biomarkers) that could help diagnose cancer, track treatment response, or predict outcomes. It is a biobanking and research study. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You have any type of tumor involving the brain, spinal cord, or surrounding structures (benign, malignant, or unknown) - You are already scheduled for a procedure that involves accessing the CSF as part of your care **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are under 18 - You are pregnant or may be pregnant - You do not have a legally authorized representative available (if you lack capacity to consent yourself) Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.

This is a simplified summary. Always discuss eligibility with your doctor before enrolling in a clinical trial.
