Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study looks at whether giving newborn babies their first whooping cough (pertussis) vaccine earlier — at birth or at 1 month — can help protect them sooner compared to the standard schedule, which starts at 2 months of age. Whooping cough can be very dangerous for young babies, so researchers want to know if earlier vaccination gives faster protection. You may be eligible if: - Your baby is a healthy newborn less than 5 days old - Your baby was born after 37 weeks of pregnancy (full term or close to full term) You may NOT be eligible if: - Your baby has a serious ongoing illness - Your baby has an immune system condition (immunodeficiency) Talk to your doctor about whether this trial might be right for you.

This summary was AI-generated to explain the trial in plain language. It is not medical advice. Always discuss eligibility with your doctor before enrolling in a clinical trial.
