Summary

This study is being conducted in order to see if JetSkins™ reduce ankle swelling associated with flying. There have been other studies on garments very similar to JetSkins™ (compression garments) that show you can significantly reduce swelling in your ankles if you wear these garments during long haul flights (over 5 hours).


Eligibility

Sex: Both males and femalesMin Age: 18 Yearss

Inclusion Criteria1

  • Confirmed return flight booking with at least a 5 hour continuous sector in both directions.

Exclusion Criteria1

  • Previous history of DVT Cardiovascular disease Coagulation disorders Varicose veins Bone or joint problems Diabetes Hypertension Obesity Neoplastic disease within previous 2 years except BCC.

Interventions

Skins>> Travel and Recovery compression garments (JetSkins™) ARTG ID: 80116 Class 1 Medical Device these are worn prior to take off and for the duration of the flight sector (minimum of 5 hours).

Skins>> Travel and Recovery compression garments (JetSkins™) ARTG ID: 80116 Class 1 Medical Device these are worn prior to take off and for the duration of the flight sector (minimum of 5 hours). There is a mimimum 48 hour washout period between flights.
