Improved support for regional and remote paediatric oncology families: a randomised controlled trial of videotelephony

This study tests whether video phone calls (videotelephony) can help families who live far from the hospital after their child is newly diagnosed with cancer. Families who live in regional or remote areas often have to travel long distances to get support from their medical team. This trial looks at whether video calls can bring that support right into the family's home, making things a little easier during a very hard time. You may be eligible if: - Your child has been newly diagnosed with cancer - Your child is between 2 and 18 years old - Your family lives in a regional or remote area - Your child is male or female You may NOT be eligible if: - A phone line of good enough quality cannot be installed at your home Talk to your doctor about whether this trial might be right for you.
