The use of dedicated interpreter services for post-operative care following total knee replacement: A pilot randomised controlled trial.

This study is testing whether providing a dedicated Greek-speaking interpreter for Greek-speaking patients after total knee replacement surgery improves their recovery and ability to manage their own health care at home. Communication problems after surgery can slow recovery. Researchers believe patients who can fully understand and discuss their care do better than those relying on limited English or informal communication. You may be eligible if: - You are 18 years or older - You speak Greek as your primary language - You are having a total knee replacement at the participating hospital You may NOT be eligible if: - You had unexpected complications during surgery that required a longer hospital stay - You have had a previous joint replacement surgery - You are unable to give informed consent Talk to your doctor about whether this trial might be right for you.
