Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is exploring what podiatrists and runners think about minimalist running shoes — those lightweight, thin-soled shoes that mimic barefoot running. Researchers are conducting surveys and interviews to understand how health professionals and runners view this style of footwear, whether it is seen as safe or effective, and what experiences people have had with it. This is a survey-based study and does not involve any treatment. You may be eligible if: - You are a registered podiatrist currently practicing in Western Australia, OR - You are a runner who has never used minimalist shoes, OR - You are a runner who currently runs in minimalist shoes - You are 18 years or older You may NOT be eligible if: - You are a runner who only recently started using minimalist shoes - You have chronic diseases such as diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis (runners only) - You have foot pain or a foot condition (runners only) - You are a non-practicing or student podiatrist, or practice outside Western Australia Talk to your doctor about whether this trial might be right for you.
