Neoadjuvant Radiosurgery for Resectable Brain Metastases: Phase I/II Study

This study is testing whether giving targeted radiation (called radiosurgery) to a brain tumor before surgery helps reduce the chance of cancer spreading in the brain after the tumor is removed. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with a cancer that has spread to the brain (1 to 4 spots), but NOT small cell lung cancer, lymphoma, or germ cell cancer - At least one brain tumor is between about 2 cm and 5 cm in size - Doctors have determined your tumor can be safely removed with surgery - You are generally healthy enough to handle daily activities (a doctor will assess this) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are not healthy enough for brain surgery - You have had whole-brain radiation treatment in the past - You cannot have an MRI scan (for example, due to a pacemaker) - You cannot attend all required follow-up visits - Your tumor is located in the brainstem - Cancer has spread along the lining of the brain or spinal cord Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
