Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma (HNSCC)PET-CT Pilot Study

This pilot study is using a combination of PET and CT scans (which show both metabolic activity and detailed anatomy) to better detect and assess head and neck cancers, including how far they have spread, to guide surgical and treatment planning. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (a type of cancer affecting the mouth, throat, tongue, voice box, or nearby areas) - You are scheduled for surgery or treatment at the participating center - You are willing to undergo a PET-CT scan as part of your evaluation **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are pregnant - You have uncontrolled diabetes (which can interfere with PET scan accuracy) - You have had a recent cancer treatment that could distort scan results - You are unable to lie still for the duration of the scan - You have allergies to the scan contrast agents Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
