Dynamics of Platelet Activation in Patients With Ventricular Assist Device (VAD)

This study examines how platelets (tiny blood cells that help form clots) become activated in patients who receive mechanical heart assist devices — including short-term devices like Impella and ECMO, and long-term devices like left ventricular assist devices (LVADs). Understanding platelet activation can help reduce complications like stroke or device failure. You may be eligible if: - You are between 18 and 75 years old - You are a candidate for or have already received a short-term (Impella, ECMO) or long-term (LVAD) mechanical heart support device - You are willing to give informed consent You may NOT be eligible if: - You are under 18 years old Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
