Genesis Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT): A Preliminary Study

This preliminary study tests a breathing monitoring technology called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) in infants, children, and young adults with chronic respiratory or cardiac conditions. EIT is a non-invasive technique that maps how air moves through different parts of the lungs in real time, by placing small electrodes around the chest — a bit like a very detailed breathing map. It doesn't use radiation. The study is designed to see if EIT can capture useful breathing information in patients who have conditions like bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), neuromuscular disease, pulmonary hypertension, or pulmonary vein stenosis. It also includes healthy controls for comparison. You may be eligible if: - You are between 2 weeks and 40 years old - You have a confirmed diagnosis of BPD, chronic respiratory or neuromuscular disease, or conditions requiring cardiac catheterization for pulmonary vascular disease - OR you are a healthy control You may NOT be eligible if: - You are less than 2 weeks old - You have congenital diaphragmatic hernia or severe congenital heart disease - You have a pacemaker or other surgical implant in your body - You are pregnant or breastfeeding - You have moderate to severe cardiomyopathy Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
