To Compare the Efficacy of Microwave Ablation and Laparoscopic Hepatectomy for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

This study is comparing two treatments for medium-sized liver tumors (3.1–5.0 cm): microwave ablation (using heat to destroy the tumor from inside) versus laparoscopic surgery (minimally invasive surgical removal). The goal is to find out which approach is safer and more effective for this size of hepatocellular carcinoma (the most common type of liver cancer). **You may be eligible if:** - You are 18 years or older - You have a confirmed diagnosis of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma), either by biopsy or by characteristic imaging patterns on MRI or CT - You have 3 or fewer tumors, with at least one measuring between 3.1 and 5.0 cm - There is no evidence of cancer spread to blood vessels, lymph nodes, or other organs - Your liver function is reasonably preserved (Child-Pugh A or B) **You may NOT be eligible if:** - You have more than 3 tumors - Your largest tumor is outside the 3.1–5.0 cm range - Cancer has spread beyond the liver - Your liver function is severely impaired Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
