The Use of Remote Monitoring for Orthodontic Retention Review

This study is testing whether using a smartphone app to remotely monitor orthodontic retainers is just as effective as in-person check-up appointments. After braces are removed, patients typically need to wear retainers to keep their teeth in place. This trial explores whether remote monitoring technology can make follow-up care more convenient without compromising results. You may be eligible if: - You have completed orthodontic treatment and are in the retention (retainer) phase - You have all your permanent adult teeth - You are in good general health with good oral hygiene and healthy gums - You own or have access to a smartphone compatible with the Dental Monitoring app (iOS or Android) - You are willing to follow the retainer wearing schedule and study instructions You may NOT be eligible if: - You have a congenital condition or craniofacial syndrome affecting your teeth or jaw - You have poor oral hygiene or unhealthy gums - You have missing teeth or teeth with poor enamel quality - You had jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) as part of your orthodontic treatment - You are unwilling or unable to follow the study instructions Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
