Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study evaluates a new type of ultrasound technology (magnetomotive ultrasound, or MMUS) that uses tiny magnetic particles to better image rectal cancer tissue before surgery. The goal is to see if this technique can provide more detailed information about the tumor compared to standard imaging. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with rectal cancer - You are scheduled to have surgery to remove the rectum and surrounding tissue (total mesorectal excision) - You have given informed consent **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are unable to give informed consent - You have another colorectal cancer at the same time (synchronous cancer) Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
