The Effectiveness and Safety of SBRT in the Treatment of Patients With MPLC After Surgery (SMILE)

This trial (called SMILE) is studying whether a precise form of radiation called stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) — which delivers high-dose, targeted beams — can safely treat people who have had surgery for one lung cancer but still have other suspicious spots in their lungs that cannot or should not be surgically removed. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18–75 years old - You have had surgery for one lung cancer (stage T1N0M0 to T1N1M0) - You have at least one remaining lung nodule (spot) that is either confirmed or strongly suspected to be cancerous - The remaining nodule cannot be removed surgically, or you decline further surgery - You are in reasonably good health (ECOG performance score 0–2) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your lung spots are metastases (cancer spread from another organ) - You have had chest radiation treatment before - Your cancer has spread to lymph nodes beyond the lungs or to other parts of the body - Your tumor is located near the central airways (the main bronchial tubes) - You have severe heart or lung conditions that would make radiation unsafe Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
