Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is evaluating a minimally invasive thyroid surgery technique that goes through the mouth (via the vestibule — the space between the lower lip and gums) instead of making a cut in the neck. This approach leaves no visible scar on the neck. **You may be eligible if...** - You have a strong desire to avoid a neck scar, or a history of excessive scarring - Your thyroid gland is not too large (less than 10 cm) and your dominant nodule is under 6 cm - Your estimated thyroid volume is under 45 mL - You have a benign thyroid condition, an indeterminate nodule, or a small suspicious nodule (less than 2 cm) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have had prior surgery or radiation to the head, neck, or upper chest - You have active hyperthyroidism - You have nerve palsy in the throat - Your cancer has spread to lymph nodes or is large/aggressive Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.

This is a simplified summary. Always discuss eligibility with your doctor before enrolling in a clinical trial.
