This study evaluates a surgical technique for people who need to have their rectum and anus removed (due to rectal or anal cancer) and need reconstruction of the pelvic floor or vagina using a muscle flap taken from the abdomen, performed with robot-assisted surgery. **You may be eligible if...** - You have rectal or anal cancer - You are scheduled for a robot-assisted abdominoperineal resection (surgery to remove the rectum, anus, and surrounding tissue) - Your surgical team has planned to reconstruct the pelvic floor or vagina using a rectus abdominis muscle flap (a muscle from your abdomen) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are not a suitable candidate for robot-assisted surgery - The rectus abdominis muscle is not available for use in reconstruction (e.g., due to prior surgery or injury) - The expected wound defect after surgery is not suitable for this type of reconstruction Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
