Conditions

Summary

Twin pregnancy increases the risk of maternal and fetal complications, which include gestational hypertension, premature labor, twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome, intrauterine growth restriction, anemia, amniotic fluid abnormalities. Comprehensively understanding the molecular mechanisms of the disease and identification of markers contribute to development of novel therapeutic approaches. In addition, the twin pregnancy, especially the monochorionic, is an essential model of "experiments of nature". This model can be applied to distinguish the epigenetic differences of twins in utero and after birth in the same genomic context. The aim of the study is to constitute a prospective cohort of twin pregnancies and the offspring.

Eligibility

Sex: FEMALEMin Age: 18 Years

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is building a long-term registry of women with twin pregnancies and following both the mothers and their children over time. Twin pregnancies carry unique risks, including preterm birth, low birth weight, and complications for both mother and babies. By tracking this cohort over years, researchers hope to better understand what factors lead to better or worse outcomes, ultimately improving care for twin pregnancies. You may be eligible if: - You are a woman who is 18 years of age or older - You are carrying a twin pregnancy You may NOT be eligible if: - A fetal chromosomal or congenital abnormality has been detected - A stillbirth has already occurred Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.

This summary was AI-generated to explain the trial in plain language. It is not medical advice. Always discuss eligibility with your doctor before enrolling in a clinical trial.
