Long-term Effects of Endobronchial Valve Implantation on Cardiac Function and Skeletal Muscle Function

This trial is studying the effects of endobronchial valve (EBV) implantation on the heart and skeletal muscles in people with severe COPD and emphysema. Endobronchial valves are small one-way valves placed in the airways during a bronchoscopy (a camera procedure through the mouth) to deflate over-inflated parts of the lung, making breathing easier. Researchers want to understand if this also improves heart and muscle function. **You may be eligible if...** - You have COPD with severe lung overinflation (hyperinflation) and a low breathing capacity - You have significant emphysema (at least 50% damage) with a complete fissure in the lung as shown on CT scan - You have not smoked for at least 6 months - Your daily symptom burden is high (CAT score of 18 or more) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have very high carbon dioxide or very low oxygen levels in your blood - You cannot walk more than 160 meters in 6 minutes - You have had more than 3 hospitalizations for lung infections in the past year - You have other severe lung diseases (e.g., active bronchiectasis) Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
