It aims to find which approach causes fewer complications and leads to better recovery. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 18 and 80 years old - You have been diagnosed with rectal cancer (adenocarcinoma), confirmed by tissue sample - Your cancer is stage I, II, or III (not spread to distant organs) - You are in reasonably good health **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have a rare type of rectal cancer (not adenocarcinoma) - You have cancer in multiple locations or distant spread (metastases) - You have serious heart, lung, liver, or kidney disease - Your surgery required emergency intervention (obstruction, bleeding, or perforation) - You have active infections Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
