This study is looking at why some small papillary thyroid cancers (a common, slow-growing type of thyroid cancer, 1 cm or smaller) come back after being treated with a minimally invasive procedure called thermal ablation, which uses heat to destroy the tumor without surgery. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You have a single papillary thyroid carcinoma that is 1 cm or smaller and at least 2 mm from the thyroid capsule - Ultrasound confirms no spread to lymph nodes or other areas - Your cancer has been confirmed by biopsy - You consent to have the thermal ablation procedure **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have multiple cancerous nodules - Your tumor is larger than 1 cm or too close to the edge of the thyroid - There is evidence of spread beyond the thyroid gland - You are not a candidate for thermal ablation Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
