This trial is testing whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called tDCS (transcranial direct current stimulation — which applies a mild electrical current to the scalp) can help reduce suicidal thoughts in people experiencing a depressive episode. **You may be eligible if...** - You are over 18 - You have been diagnosed with a recurrent or isolated depressive episode - You have been on a stable antidepressant for at least 3 weeks - You have a moderate-to-severe depression score (MADRS ≥20) and measurable suicidal ideation (SSI >3) - You have health insurance coverage - Women must use effective contraception throughout the study **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have depression with psychosis, schizophrenia, or a history of alcohol or drug dependence - You have already had electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) without improvement this episode - You are currently incarcerated or detained - You have a very high immediate suicide risk (without being hospitalized) - You have metal implants in the brain, a pacemaker, or skin conditions on the stimulation area - You are pregnant, recently gave birth, or are breastfeeding - You are in another interventional study Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
