This study evaluates using tissue from the neck (submental flap) to reconstruct the throat and voice box area after surgery for hypopharyngeal cancer (cancer of the lower throat). Researchers want to know if this technique offers better outcomes compared to other reconstruction methods. **You may be eligible if...** - You are an adult with cancer of the lower throat (hypopharynx) requiring surgery - The tumor can be removed surgically - You are healthy enough to undergo the procedure **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your cancer has spread to areas that make surgery impossible - You have had prior surgery or radiation that would prevent use of the neck tissue flap - You have serious medical conditions that make major surgery too risky Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
