Conditions

Summary

This study aims to investigate the prognostic value of circulating plasma cells (CPCs) in patients with multiple myeloma and explore whether CPCs detection might be used in place of bone marrow aspiration for disease monitoring.

Eligibility

Min Age: 18 YearsMax Age: 80 Years

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This multicenter study is looking at the prognostic value of measuring a specific type of cell (circulating plasma cells, or CPCs) in the blood of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients, using a technique called flow cytometry, to better predict how the disease will progress. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been newly diagnosed with multiple myeloma - You have not yet received any treatment for multiple myeloma - You are between 18 and 80 years old - You have no prior history of other cancers **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have already received treatment for myeloma - You have a related but different condition (such as smoldering myeloma, MGUS, plasma cell leukemia, amyloidosis, or Waldenström's macroglobulinemia) - You have an active infection - You are HIV positive - You are pregnant or breastfeeding Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
