Thoracic Radiotherapy for Patients With Metastatic (Stage IV) Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer at High Risk of Symptomatic Progression Within the Thorax

This study is testing palliative chest radiation therapy for people with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who are at high risk for developing serious breathing or chest symptoms. The goal is to prevent or delay these complications, not to cure the cancer. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer without targetable genetic mutations (like EGFR or ALK) - You have a large lung tumor (5 cm or more) or a tumor pressing against major structures like the esophagus, spine, or heart - Chest radiation is technically feasible for your tumor(s) - You started systemic therapy (chemotherapy or immunotherapy) within the past 6 months - You have not had prior radiation to the chest **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have targetable mutations (like EGFR, ALK, or ROS1) for which targeted therapy is the primary treatment - You have previously received radiation to the chest - Chest radiation is not safely deliverable to your tumor(s) - You are currently receiving concurrent chemotherapy (within 2 days of radiation) Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
