Outcomes and Cosmesis With Whole Breast Irradiation and Boost

This study looks at long-term outcomes and cosmetic results for women with early-stage breast cancer who have a lumpectomy (breast-conserving surgery) followed by whole breast radiation therapy plus a targeted radiation boost to the tumor area. **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with early-stage invasive breast cancer (Stage T1 or T2) or DCIS (a non-invasive form of breast cancer) - You had a lumpectomy with clear margins and no cancer in the lymph nodes - Your treatment plan includes whole breast radiation followed by a tumor bed boost - You are willing and able to attend follow-up visits **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You had a full mastectomy (breast removal) - Your cancer has spread to the lymph nodes or other parts of the body - You have had previous breast cancer on the same side or previous chest radiation - You have an active connective tissue disease such as scleroderma - You are receiving chemotherapy at the same time as radiation - You have had another cancer (other than minor skin cancers) in the past 5 years Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
