This study tests whether a gentle touch relaxation technique (applied to the hands, feet, and head) can help reduce anxiety and discomfort in patients who are on a breathing machine (ventilator) in the intensive care unit. Participants are sedated and intubated, so their family or trusted person consents on their behalf. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You are currently intubated (on a ventilator) and sedated in the intensive care unit at Niort Hospital in France - You have been on a ventilator for more than 48 hours - You are expected to be taken off the ventilator within 48 hours - Your trusted contact person has agreed to participate on your behalf **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are pregnant - You have been on antidepressants for more than 3 months - You have wounds, burns, or skin problems on your hands, feet, or head - You are participating in another study - You are under legal guardianship or custody restrictions Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
