This study is testing whether the medication dapagliflozin (a diabetes/heart drug) can help preserve kidney function in people who are new to peritoneal dialysis (a type of kidney dialysis done at home through the belly). Researchers want to see if the drug can slow the loss of remaining kidney function. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 18 and 75 years old - You have been on peritoneal dialysis for 1 to 3 months - You still produce at least 400 mL of urine per day - Your dialysis prescription has been stable for at least one month **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are pregnant or breastfeeding - You have Type 1 diabetes - You have had diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious diabetes complication) - You have significant liver disease - You have had more than 2 urinary tract infections in the past 6 months - You have had a heart attack or stroke in the past month - You have low hemoglobin (less than 90 g/L) - You are planning a kidney transplant within 6 months Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
