Plain Language Summary
Simplified for easier understanding
This study analyzes the gut microbiome (bacteria living in your digestive system) and blood metabolites in patients with pancreatic cancer or chronic pancreatitis (long-term inflammation of the pancreas), comparing them to healthy people. The goal is to discover biological markers that might help with earlier diagnosis or better treatment.
**You may be eligible if...**
- You have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma)
- You have been diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis with clear signs on imaging (such as calcifications on CT scan)
- Or you are a healthy person without pancreatic disease (for the comparison group)
**You may NOT be eligible if...**
- You are pregnant
- You have a blood clotting disorder that makes blood tests unsafe
- You have used antibiotics or probiotics within the past 3 months
