Summary

The purpose of our study is to compare an abbreviated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the bowel or magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) protocol to a conventional, standard of care MRE in children and adults with Crohn's Disease.

Eligibility

Min Age: 10 Years

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study tests whether a shorter version of a bowel imaging procedure called MR enterography (MRE) — which uses MRI to look at the small intestine — works just as well as the standard longer version for people with Crohn's disease. MRE is used to see how much inflammation is present and whether there is scarring or complications. A shorter scan would be more comfortable for patients and faster for hospitals. **You may be eligible if...** - You have an established diagnosis of Crohn's disease and are 10 years or older - You are already scheduled for an MRE scan for one of these reasons: checking or monitoring intestinal inflammation, evaluating a known or suspected narrowing (stricture), or evaluating a known or suspected tunnel or fistula inside the abdomen **You may NOT be eligible if...** - This is your first imaging scan for a suspected (not yet confirmed) Crohn's diagnosis - Your Crohn's only affects the colon (not the small bowel) - You have an ileostomy or have had part of your ileum removed - You are pregnant or may be pregnant - You have a reason you cannot have an MRI (e.g., metal implants) - You are under 10 years old - You do not speak English Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
