Conditions

Summary

Study of ECG and electrophysiological criteria which discriminate right versus left septal AP (both posteroseptal and anteroseptal AP). Both manifest and concealed APs will be considered .

Eligibility

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is investigating how to tell apart right-sided from left-sided extra electrical pathways in the heart (called septal accessory pathways) before and during a heart procedure. These abnormal pathways cause a condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome or similar arrhythmias, and identifying their location accurately can make the corrective procedure (ablation) safer and more effective. **You may be eligible if...** - You have a suspected septal accessory pathway (an extra electrical circuit in the heart near the septum, the wall between the heart's chambers) - You are scheduled for an electrophysiology study and ablation procedure at the cardiology department of Assiut University Heart Hospital - Your pathway may be visible on the surface ECG (manifest) or only detectable during testing (concealed) **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have had a previous failed ablation attempt or are being re-treated - You have more than one accessory pathway - You have congenital or structural heart disease Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
