This is a Randomized Study of Early Involvement of Palliative Care Along Side Standard Treatment Versus Standard Treatment Alone in Newly Diagnosed Patients With Advanced or Metastatic Soft Tissue Sarcoma (SARQUALITY)

This study is comparing whether involving a palliative care team early — at the same time as standard cancer treatment — improves the quality of life and emotional wellbeing of people newly diagnosed with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma (a type of cancer that starts in muscles, fat, or other soft tissues). **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You have been confirmed by biopsy to have advanced sarcoma that cannot be cured with surgery, or that has spread - You have not yet received chemotherapy or other systemic treatment for advanced disease - You are well enough to carry out some daily activities (ECOG status 0–2) - You have a life expectancy of more than 6 months - You are able and willing to complete questionnaires **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have cognitive impairment that would prevent you from giving consent or answering questionnaires - You already need urgent palliative care support or are already seeing a palliative care doctor - You have an active psychiatric disorder or substance abuse problem - You are not able to read English well enough to complete the questionnaires Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
