Pennington Generation Cohort

The Pennington Generation Cohort is a long-term observational study following up to 1,500 Louisiana families — including children, adolescents, young adults, and expectant parents — to understand how lifestyle, environment, and genetics influence the risk of childhood obesity over time. Families undergo physical exams and assessments at the start, then are followed through clinic visits, surveys, and optional medical record linkages. Eligible participants include Louisiana residents from birth through age 24, as well as adults 25 and older who are expectant parents or trying to conceive. There is no treatment involved; participation means completing study visits and providing health information over time.
