Summary

The purpose of this study is to examine tiny blood vessels in different thyroid nodules using advanced ultrasound. In the long term, we hope this can help doctors better tell the difference between types of nodules and more accurately decide who may need surgery.

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is using a special ultrasound technique to examine tiny blood vessels inside thyroid nodules (small lumps in the thyroid gland). The goal is to determine whether detailed blood vessel patterns visible on ultrasound can help doctors predict whether a nodule is cancerous before surgery, potentially improving how thyroid nodules are diagnosed. **You may be eligible if...** - You are 18 or older - You have thyroid nodules that have been referred for surgery due to possible cancer (Bethesda classification III, IV, V, or VI) - You have any type of functioning thyroid nodule (underactive, normal, or overactive) - You are a healthy volunteer with no chronic illness who wants to participate as a comparison group **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You are pregnant - You are unable to undergo the examination due to physical or mental limitations - You wish to withdraw your consent at any point during the study Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
