Summary

The purpose of this study is to learn how people with BRCA1/2 mutations respond to genetic risk modifier testing. The researchers will learn more about how people make choices about their health care, including about methods to screen for prostate cancer. Researchers are also doing this study to learn about how the genetic risk modifier test affects people's thoughts and feelings.

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is examining how men with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation make decisions about prostate cancer screening and risk management. These gene mutations increase the risk of several cancers. Researchers want to understand what factors influence their choices. **You may be eligible if...** - You are a man (assigned male sex at birth) aged 45–70 - You do NOT currently have prostate cancer - You have tested positive for a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation in a clinical lab - You can communicate in English **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have already been diagnosed with prostate cancer - You have a major psychiatric illness or significant cognitive impairment - You cannot complete the study surveys in English Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
