A Novel Approach in the Evaluation of Breast Masses With Doppler US

A Novel Approach to the Evaluation of Breast Masses Using Doppler Ultrasonography: Percentage Changes in Resistive Index Between the Mass and Surrounding Normal Parenchyma in Benign-Malignant Differentiation

Conditions

Summary

In cases with breast masses, Doppler resistive index values will be calculated for the mass and surrounding healthy tissue and the opposite healthy breast tissue, and their effect on distinguishing between benign and malignant masses will be evaluated.

Eligibility

Sex: FEMALEMin Age: 18 Years

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is evaluating a new way to use Doppler ultrasound — a type of scan that measures blood flow — to better assess solid breast masses and determine whether they might be cancerous. Researchers are testing whether this technique can provide additional useful information beyond standard imaging. **You may be eligible if...** - You are a woman - You have a solid breast mass (a lump that is not fluid-filled) - You have had a pathology (biopsy) result available for comparison **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your breast mass is cystic (fluid-filled) - Your mass has very low blood flow (hypovascular) - You have mastitis (breast infection) Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
