Summary
This study aims to develop, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of an online training program on physical activity and sedentary behavior counseling for primary health care workers. The training program is designed to improve competencies related to physical activity and sedentary behavior counseling within primary health care settings. Health professionals working in primary health care units from selected municipalities in Brazil will be invited to participate. Outcomes related to counseling competencies and professional practices will be assessed before and after participation in the training program.
Eligibility
Inclusion Criteria3
- Healthcare professionals working in Primary Health Care Units (UBS) in Florianópolis (SC), Rio Claro (SP), or São José dos Pinhais (PR) during the data collection period
- Professionals who are actively working in their positions at the time of recruitment
- Professionals who voluntarily agree to participate and provide informed consent
Exclusion Criteria3
- Professionals who are not actively working during the data collection period
- Professionals who do not provide informed consent
- Professionals with incomplete baseline assessment data

Interventions
A self-directed asynchronous online training program developed for primary health care professionals to improve competencies related to brief counseling on physical activity and sedentary behavior. The training includes short video lessons, written materials, and practical guidance based on World Health Organization recommendations and Brazilian national guidelines. Participants can access the content remotely through an online learning platform using computers, tablets, or smartphones. The program is structured into modules addressing physical activity, sedentary behavior, health outcomes, and counseling strategies applicable to primary health care settings.
