The aim of the study if to assess the effectiveness of brief physician counseling in improving smoking behaviour at workplace.


Eligibility

Sex: Both males and femalesMin Age: 18 Yearss

Inclusion Criteria2

  • Current smokers
  • Remained in the same workplace for more than three months

Exclusion Criteria1

  • Smokers who are actively engaging in smoking cessation

Ten minutes of brief physician counseling on smoking cessation. The counseling was administered face-to-face, on individual basis, stage-matched counseling, all participants were given information reg

Ten minutes of brief physician counseling on smoking cessation. The counseling was administered face-to-face, on individual basis, stage-matched counseling, all participants were given information regarding the health benefits of smoking cessation and health hazards of continue smoking. Treatments modalities available to help quit smoking at the nearest quit smoking facilities were explained and contacts given.
