Conditions

Summary

This is a study to assess the safety and effectiveness of endovascular treatment of thoracoabdominal (TAAA) and paravisceral abdominal (PVAAA) aortic aneurysms. The investigational operation involves placing a stent-graft over the aortic aneurysm.

Eligibility

Min Age: 18 Years

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study evaluates endovascular repair (a minimally invasive procedure using a stent graft inserted through blood vessels) for thoracoabdominal and paravisceral aortic aneurysms — dangerous bulges in the large aorta near the abdomen that supply blood to vital organs. This approach may be an alternative to open surgery for high-risk patients. You may be eligible if: - You are 18 years or older - You have an aortic aneurysm that is 6 cm or larger (men), 5.5 cm or larger (women), growing rapidly, or an iliac aneurysm over 4 cm - Your anticipated mortality from conventional surgery is comparable to published surgical rates - Your life expectancy is more than 2 years - Your blood vessel anatomy is suitable for endovascular repair - You are willing to follow up as required You may NOT be eligible if: - Your aneurysm has already ruptured - You are pregnant - You have a known allergy to nitinol, stainless steel, or polyester (stent materials) - You have an uncorrectable blood clotting disorder or a serious infection Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
