Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

CrescNet is a long-running German registry that collects height, weight, and head circumference measurements from children seen by pediatricians and primary care doctors across the country, to help detect growth disorders early and study trends in child development. The data are anonymized and analyzed to understand how many children have growth or weight issues and whether they are being identified and managed appropriately. Any child seen by a participating physician, for any type of visit, may be included regardless of reason for the appointment. Participation is passive for patients — data from routine clinic measurements are contributed by the physician to the registry without additional visits or procedures.
