Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study tests whether comprehensive cardiac CT imaging done before coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery improves surgical planning and ultimately patient outcomes. CABG is open-heart surgery that bypasses blocked coronary arteries using healthy blood vessels harvested from elsewhere in the body. The CT scans provide detailed 3D maps of the coronary arteries, potential graft vessels, and heart structure — information that might help surgeons choose the best approach and reduce complications. Participants are adults 40 and older who are scheduled for elective CABG surgery. People with technical factors that would make the CT scans unreliable (like significant arrhythmias, redo surgery, or extreme weight) are excluded, as are those with conditions that make the study's contrast agent or vasodilator medications unsafe. You may be eligible if: - You are 40 years or older - You are scheduled for elective CABG surgery for coronary artery disease - CABG is the primary reason for your surgery - You weigh under 100 kg You may NOT be eligible if: - You have significant arrhythmia or congenital heart conditions that would make CT difficult - You are clinically unstable (active heart failure, unstable angina, or heart attack within the last month) - You are pregnant or breastfeeding - You have known allergy to CT contrast media or renal failure - You have severe aortic stenosis or bronchial asthma requiring daily bronchodilators Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
