Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study is examining sleep behaviors during pregnancy and how they relate to maternal and infant health. Sleep problems during pregnancy — including insomnia, restless leg syndrome, and sleep apnea — are very common and can increase the risk of complications like gestational diabetes, preterm birth, and postpartum depression, yet they are often underdiagnosed. Participants will use smartphone-based tools to track their sleep patterns over the course of the study. This non-invasive approach allows researchers to gather real-world sleep data without requiring participants to stay in a sleep lab. The findings could help doctors better identify and treat sleep problems during pregnancy. You may be eligible if: - You are at least 28 weeks pregnant - You are receiving prenatal care at Michigan Medicine - You have an Android or iPhone smartphone You may NOT be eligible if: - You are less than 28 weeks pregnant - You are receiving prenatal care outside of Michigan Medicine - You do not have a smartphone Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
