Summary

This is an observational study using optical coherence tomography (OCT) technology to quantify corneal edema in Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy and predict refractive shift from resolving corneal edema after surgical treatments.

Plain Language Summary

Simplified for easier understanding

This study uses a specialized eye imaging technology called OCT (optical coherence tomography) to look at the cornea — the clear front layer of the eye — in patients with Fuchs' dystrophy or bullous keratopathy (PBK). These are conditions where the cells lining the inside of the cornea (called endothelial cells) stop working properly, causing the cornea to become swollen and cloudy, and leading to vision problems. OCT imaging can help doctors better understand the disease and plan treatment, which often involves a partial corneal transplant. This is an observational imaging study — it doesn't involve a new treatment, but rather uses OCT to better monitor and understand these conditions. Patients must be willing and able to attend the required study visits. You may be eligible if: - You have been diagnosed with Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy or pseudophakic bullous keratopathy (PBK) - You are committed to attending required study visits You may NOT be eligible if: - You have previously had an endothelial keratoplasty (corneal transplant surgery) or any other prior eye surgery except uncomplicated cataract surgery - You have uncontrolled uveitis (inflammation inside the eye) or a heavily vascularized (blood vessel-filled) cornea - You have other primary endothelial dystrophies - You have corneal scarring that would affect assessment - You have significant glaucoma or high eye pressure - You have significant optic nerve or macular (central retina) disease Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
