Endoscopic Cyclophotocoagulation in Normal Tension Glaucoma

This study tests whether a laser procedure done during cataract surgery (called endoscopic cyclophotocoagulation, or ECP) can reduce eye pressure in people with a type of glaucoma where pressure is already within the normal range (normal tension glaucoma). **You may be eligible if...** - You have been diagnosed with normal tension glaucoma (eye pressure always below 21 mmHg but with nerve damage consistent with glaucoma) - Your glaucoma is currently stable with medication - You also have a significant cataract that needs surgery - You speak Finnish, Swedish, or English **You may NOT be eligible if...** - Your glaucoma is caused by something else (like injury or inflammation) - You have had previous glaucoma surgery or eye procedures (including retinal or corneal surgery) - You have wet macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, or Fuchs' corneal dystrophy - You have dementia - Your only functioning eye has very poor vision (worse than 20/200) - Your glaucoma is currently getting worse despite treatment Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
