Summary

A study to observe how often antibiotics are prescribed in children hospitalized for pneumonia and how doctors decide if a child needs antibiotics or not. Parent satisfaction will also be recorded.

You may be eligible if: - Your child is between 3 months and 18 years old - Your child has been admitted to the pediatric ward at Filderklinik or Herdecke Community Hospital with a diagnosis of pneumonia (at admission or within 48 hours) - You (as a caregiver) are able to provide written informed consent You may NOT be eligible if: - The caregiver does not have sufficient understanding of German to comprehend the study materials and questionnaire Talk to the pediatric care team at these hospitals if your child has been diagnosed with pneumonia and you are willing to participate in this research.
