Prediction of Gastric Cancer in Intestinal Metaplasia and Atrophic Gastritis

This study is following people with early precancerous changes in the stomach lining — called atrophic gastritis or intestinal metaplasia — to learn more about who goes on to develop stomach cancer over time. These conditions are relatively common, especially in older adults, and can be detected on routine upper endoscopy. By tracking a large group of patients over time, researchers hope to identify which factors predict cancer development and to build better screening and early detection tools. **You may be eligible if:** - You are 18 years of age or older - You have been diagnosed (confirmed by tissue sample during a scope procedure) with atrophic gastritis or intestinal metaplasia in your stomach **You may NOT be eligible if:** - There are no listed exclusion criteria for this study — it appears this study is broadly open to anyone meeting the above criteria Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
