Laparoscopic vs Open Total Gastrectomy for Gastric Cancer

This study is comparing two surgical approaches for removing the stomach (total gastrectomy) in patients with gastric cancer: laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery versus traditional open surgery. The goal is to determine whether the less invasive keyhole approach has similar cancer outcomes with fewer complications and faster recovery. **You may be eligible if:** - You are between 20 and 80 years old - You have been confirmed (by biopsy) to have stomach cancer in the upper or middle part of the stomach - Your cancer is classified as stage I–III (not involving distant organs) - Your general health is good (ECOG score 0–1) - You are scheduled for a total gastrectomy (full stomach removal) with lymph node removal - You have not received chemotherapy or radiation before surgery **You may NOT be eligible if:** - Your cancer is at an advanced stage (N3 lymph node involvement or T4b) - You have received pre-operative chemotherapy or radiation - You have had previous stomach surgery - You have another active cancer Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
