Summary

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of vitamin C in improving the quality of life for metastatic pancreatic cancer patients who are resistant to chemotherapy.

This study tests whether high-dose intravenous vitamin C can improve quality of life for patients with terminal metastatic pancreatic cancer whose cancer has progressed after two rounds of chemotherapy. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 18 and 80 years old - You have confirmed metastatic pancreatic adenocarcinoma - Your cancer has progressed after two lines of chemotherapy - You have adequate organ function and at least one measurable tumor - Your expected survival is at least 1 month **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have another active cancer - Your cancer type is not adenocarcinoma - You are pregnant or breastfeeding - You have G6PD deficiency (a genetic enzyme condition that makes high-dose vitamin C dangerous) - You have kidney failure or require dialysis - You have serious gut inflammation (pancreatitis, cholecystitis, etc.) Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.

Interventions

DRUGAscorbate

For patients with baseline serum Vitamin C concentration \< 65 μmol/L, intravenous Vitamin C 10 g × 7 days, intravenous Vitamin C 4 g × 7 days, intravenous Vitamin C 2 g × 7 days, followed by continuously 900 mg/day, three times a day, orally. For patients with baseline serum Vitamin C concentration ≥ 65 μmol/L, continuously 900 mg/day, three times a day, orally.
