Summary
We will sample intestinal microbiota using a microbiome sampling capsule in Healthy, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and Functional Gastrointestinal Disease.
Eligibility
Min Age: 18 YearsMax Age: 70 Years
Plain Language Summary
Simplified for easier understanding
This study is using a swallowable capsule to collect samples of bacteria from different parts of the digestive tract in people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or other functional gut disorders. Current tests for gut bacteria usually rely on stool samples, which mainly reflect the colon. This capsule gives researchers a window into microbes throughout the small and large intestine.
