Individualized Elective Neck Irradiation in NPC Patients

This study is testing an individualized radiation approach for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), a cancer of the upper throat behind the nose, where the radiation field is tailored based on where the disease is actually present rather than treating a fixed standard region. The goal is to reduce radiation side effects while maintaining effectiveness. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 18 and 70 years old - You have newly diagnosed NPC of the non-keratinizing type that has not spread to distant organs - Your cancer is staged T1–4N0–2 or involves N3 lymph nodes that are not bilaterally in the lower neck - You have not had prior chemotherapy, surgery (other than biopsy), or radiation to the head and neck - Your performance status (Karnofsky score) is above 70 and your blood counts are adequate **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have received prior treatment (chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery) to the neck or nasopharynx - You have had a previous cancer - You are pregnant or breastfeeding - You have a severe coexisting illness Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
