This study is testing whether statin medications (drugs commonly used to lower cholesterol) can also reduce depression symptoms in adults with major depressive disorder (MDD) who are already on standard antidepressant treatment. **You may be eligible if...** - You are between 20 and 45 years old - You have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder with mild to moderate current symptoms - You have been on a stable antidepressant medication for at least 2 weeks - You are male or female and can give informed consent **You may NOT be eligible if...** - You have a history of bipolar disorder, psychosis, or other serious psychiatric conditions - You have liver problems or other conditions that make statin use unsafe - You have had recent suicidal behavior - You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding Talk to your doctor to see if this trial is right for you.
